Chairman James Comer announced possible subpoenas for Governor Tim Walz in response to a scheme that funneled public money through nonprofits to benefit special interests and Somali immigrants.

He criticized the lack of transparency from Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison as the federal investigation into over $1 billion in alleged fraudulent pandemic aid continues.

“If anyone that has received correspondence from us thus far requesting information, if they don’t turn over that information, then they will get a subpoena.”

“And we’re serious about this.”

“We’re not going to back down.”

He blamed Walz and Ellison for

“hiding”

from oversight and warned

“I’m going to predict that Walz’s political career is closer to an end than somewhere in the middle.”

This case fuels ongoing conservative scrutiny of government overreach and taxpayer abuse, reinforcing calls for limited, accountable governance.
