Do You Support Trump’s Executive Order to Slash Prescription Drug Prices?
Here’s The Scoop
In a bold move to put America first, President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday aimed at slashing prescription drug prices for Americans, ensuring they no longer pay exorbitant rates compared to other countries. This decisive action is yet another example of Trump standing up for everyday Americans against globalist policies and Big Pharma profiteering.
Flanked by top health officials, including Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, Trump made it clear that the days of the U.S. subsidizing foreign nations’ healthcare are over. “Starting today, the United States will no longer subsidize the health care of foreign countries, which is what we were doing,” Trump declared during the signing in the Roosevelt Room.
For years, Americans have been forced to pay sky-high prices for life-saving medications while citizens in other countries enjoy the same drugs at a fraction of the cost. Trump called out this injustice, saying, “We’ll no longer tolerate profiteering and price gouging from Big Pharma.” He also pointed out that foreign nations have been strong-arming pharmaceutical companies into these unfair practices, leaving American consumers to foot the bill.
The executive order takes a hardline approach to ensure fairness. It directs Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer to crack down on foreign countries that engage in unfair practices, which artificially inflate drug prices for Americans. Additionally, the order establishes a mechanism for Americans to purchase medications directly from producers at “Most Favored Nation” pricing—ensuring the best possible deal for U.S. consumers.
But Trump didn’t stop there. The order gives Health and Human Services Secretary Kennedy the authority to take aggressive action if drug manufacturers fail to comply. This includes proposing rules to enforce most-favored-nation pricing and implementing other measures to end anticompetitive practices that hurt American families. Trump predicted that these efforts could lead to price reductions of “between 59 and 80, and I guess even 90 percent.”
The president also exposed the staggering profits Big Pharma has been raking in at the expense of American citizens. Despite the U.S. making up only four percent of the world’s population, pharmaceutical companies make over two-thirds of their profits here. This executive order is a direct challenge to that imbalance, putting the needs of American patients ahead of corporate greed and globalist agendas.
This is yet another example of Trump delivering on his promise to prioritize the American people and fight for fairness in a system that has long been rigged against them. By standing up to Big Pharma and foreign nations that have taken advantage of the U.S. for decades, Trump is proving once again that his America First agenda is more than just a slogan—it’s a commitment to real, meaningful change.

The American taxpayer subsidies for the pharmaceutical companies and the pharmaceutical companies are shielded from lawsuits from the public incase their products fail. American taxpayers deserve better

A nice idea, in theory. It’s too bad an Executive Order has absolutely zero force of law behind it and only Congress can actually do anything about this issue.
