Teachers Union Caught Using Retiree Pensions for Woke Agenda

  • Second-largest teachers union accused of weaponizing pension funds to push radical leftist causes
  • Education watchdog demands federal investigation into AFT’s DEI boycotts and fossil fuel divestments
  • Hardworking teachers’ retirement savings reportedly hijacked for political activism they never approved

The American Federation of Teachers is facing serious allegations that it misused billions in teacher pension funds to advance a far-left political agenda. An education watchdog group has formally demanded a federal investigation into the union’s practices.

Consumers’ Research sent a letter to acting U.S. Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling on Thursday outlining how the AFT allegedly used retirement savings to push fossil fuel divestments, pro-DEI boycotts, and other pressure campaigns. The second-largest teachers union in America may have put ideology ahead of its fiduciary duty to protect retirees.

Teachers across the country pay into these pension funds expecting their money will be managed responsibly and grow for their retirement. Instead, union leadership may have been gambling with those hard-earned dollars to score political points with the woke mob.

The AFT has been one of the most vocal advocates for radical environmental policies and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Now evidence suggests they weren’t just talking—they were using teachers’ own money to fund the fight.

This isn’t about protecting workers or securing retirements. It’s about union bosses wielding enormous financial power to reshape America according to their progressive vision. Fossil fuel divestments may sound noble to climate activists, but they represent a deliberate decision to sacrifice investment returns for political virtue signaling.

The same pattern appears in the union’s support for DEI-driven boycotts. Rather than maximizing returns for retirees, the AFT allegedly prioritized social justice scorecards when making investment decisions. That’s a betrayal of the teachers who trusted the union with their financial futures.

Federal law requires pension fund managers to act solely in the financial interest of beneficiaries. Politics aren’t supposed to enter the equation. If the allegations are true, the AFT may have violated its legal obligations on a massive scale.

The acting Labor Secretary now faces pressure to launch a full investigation. Teachers deserve to know whether their union leadership put woke activism ahead of their retirement security. Transparency and accountability aren’t optional when billions of dollars in workers’ savings are at stake.

Union members didn’t sign up for their pension funds to become slush funds for progressive causes. They paid their dues and contributed to their retirements expecting professional, non-political management. What they may have gotten instead was ideological manipulation of their money.

Americans deserve better.

DOES NOT SURPRISE ME!!!! THE DEMONRATS ARE SLOWLY EATING (PARASITES/MAGGOTS) AWAY AT OUR CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC!!!! IF IT KEEPS UP, WE’LL HAVE COMMUNISTS RUNNING THE COUNTRY!!!
Former Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev predicted:
“We do not have to invade the United States; we will destroy you from within.”
During the Cold War, this chilling statement reflected the Soviet Union’s strategy of ideological subversion—weakening societies through misinformation, division, and undermining democratic institutions.
Now: Decades later, his words feel eerily relevant. The tools may have changed—digital propaganda, cyberattacks, and disinformation campaigns—but the goal remains the same: to divide and destabilize from within.
