Far-Left Upset in New Jersey Primary Sparks Concerns
Liberty Check
- Mejia touts endorsements from far-left figures and led public chants to “Abolish ICE.”
- Several news outlets called and then retracted projections before the result was official.
- Former Rep. Malinowski endorsed Mejia after conceding and warned against sending a “rubber stamp” for Trump to Congress.
Far-left activist Analilia Mejia won the Democratic House primary in New Jersey’s 11th district, defeating former Congressman Tom Malinowski and other high-profile contenders.
Mejia’s 29.3% win was confirmed after delays in counting mail-in ballots and a series of premature race calls by major outlets.
This victory sets up Mejia, who was endorsed by prominent progressives, for a likely win in April’s special general election in the heavily Democratic district.
The 11th district leans solidly blue, and the seat was previously held by Governor Mikie Sherrill, who resigned after her gubernatorial win in November.
Conservatives must remain vigilant about the rise of extreme candidates who threaten constitutional values and the rule of law. Stand up for transparent elections and principled leadership.
The Constitution must be defended.
