President Donald Trump has rejected a legislative proposal to fund portions of the Department of Homeland Security while leaving ICE funding to a future reconciliation process.

Senate leadership suggested the deal to end the current shutdown, but the administration remains committed to a comprehensive security approach.

The White House maintains that any agreement must prioritize national sovereignty and the rule of law over partisan interests.

Negotiators have noted that Democrats continue to move the goalposts by attempting to limit civil immigration enforcement at sensitive locations.

“I don’t think we should make any deal with the Crazy, Country Destroying, Radical Left Democrats unless, and until, they Vote with Republicans to pass ‘THE SAVE AMERICA ACT,’” Trump posted.

While Democrats attempt to isolate TSA funding, the administration has deployed ICE personnel to airports to mitigate the impact of staffing shortages.

Constitutional governance requires a secure border and a refusal to allow extremist policy riders to dictate federal spending.
