  • Mamdani avoided stating if Hamas should give up power in Gaza.
  • The NYC mayoral race features strong positions on public safety and foreign policy stances.
  • Voters are left wondering if Mamdani will defend American values or sidestep tough questions.

New York Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani repeatedly refused to answer whether Hamas should disarm when pressed in a televised interview. His unwillingness to address the core question raises concerns about his commitment to clearly condemning terror and supporting American interests.

“Do you believe Hamas should lay down their weapons and leave the leadership in Gaza?” host Martha MacCallum asked after referencing reports of Hamas continuing violence and retaining the remains of deceased hostages, including Americans.

“I think those are bodies and remains that should absolutely be returned, and I think that I have no issue with critiquing Hamas or the Israeli government, because my critiques all come from a place of universal human rights,”

Mamdani responded.

“And my focus, however, is right here in New York City and transforming the most expensive city in America into one that’s affordable for each and every New Yorker.”

This moment spotlights the importance of pressing our leaders for moral clarity on international issues that threaten American citizens and allies.

Our freedoms depend on staying vigilant.
