This weekend, a shocking act of violence struck the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan. Police identified 40-year-old Marine veteran Thomas Jacob Sanford as the attacker responsible for at least four deaths and multiple injuries, before setting the church building on fire.
Authorities confirmed Sanford was the only suspect and that he died at the scene after exchanging gunfire with officers who responded to the emergency. Police believe this was a deliberate act, as Sanford used an accelerant to ignite the flames following his assault with a rifle.
