A senior staff member for Senator Tammy Duckworth was dismissed after being accused of falsely claiming to represent an illegal immigrant in federal custody.

The Department of Homeland Security identified Edward York as having posed as the legal counsel for a 40-year-old Mexican national, seeking the individual’s release despite a criminal history.

Attempts by media to obtain additional comment from Senator Duckworth’s office on the incident have gone unanswered.

The Constitution must be defended.
