Visa Overstays Lead to Tragic Loss of American Lives

Liberty Check

Two illegal immigrants from Angola were arrested following separate fatal car crashes in Maine. Both individuals had overstayed their B-2 tourist visas and were taken into custody by ICE after the incidents resulted in the deaths of innocent Americans.

DHS coordinated efforts with ICE to remove Mukendi Mbiya, who struck and killed Stacy Strattard in Gray, Maine, and Lionel Francisco, who caused the death of Elizabeth Camacho in Lewiston. Both crashes highlight serious failures in enforcing visa laws.

  • Both perpetrators entered the U.S. legally on B-2 visas but remained in the country long after their visas expired.
  • The tragic deaths of Stacy Strattard and Elizabeth Camacho underscore the urgent need for stronger border and visa controls.
  • DHS officials continue calling for reform, stressing these tragedies were preventable if the law had been enforced.

“It seems to be almost a daily occurrence where an illegal alien driving kills innocent Americans,” stated DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin in response to the incidents.

“All of these deaths are preventable because these illegal aliens should have NEVER been in our country. These two illegal aliens in Maine came to the country on B-2 tourist visas that allowed them to remain in the country for six months. Both overstayed their visas and never left the U.S.”

Public officials call for real accountability and emphasize that restoring integrity to immigration programs is essential to keeping Americans safe.

Constitutional conservatives demand an end to the exploitation of visa programs that threaten the safety of American citizens. Stand vigilant and hold leadership accountable to protect your rights and uphold the law.

The Constitution must be defended.
