- The Ninth Circuit blocked a California law aimed at forcing ICE agents to unmask.
- Republican Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia criticized similar state efforts in New Jersey.
- The ruling reinforces that federal authority takes precedence over state interference in immigration enforcement.
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals recently issued an injunction against California’s attempt to regulate federal immigration enforcement. The court said the state cannot dictate how federal ICE agents conduct their operations.
Liberal lawmakers in Sacramento and New Jersey continue to push measures that clash with basic constitutional limits. State governments do not have the authority to regulate federal law enforcement agencies.
“Can you differentiate between the fact that we don’t make laws that control the federal government? My God, what are we doing here?”
Radical state governments are prioritizing political theater over the constitutional order that keeps our republic functioning. Officials should return to following the law instead of chasing headlines at the public’s expense.
The Constitution must be defended.
