Do You Agree with Elon Musk that Trump’s Spending Bill is a ‘Disgusting Abomination’?
Here’s The Scoop
In a bold move, the White House is standing firm behind President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” despite some high-profile criticism from none other than Elon Musk. The outspoken entrepreneur has doubled down on his disapproval, labeling the spending bill a “disgusting abomination.”
Musk, who has never shied away from voicing his opinions, took to X to express his frustration, stating, “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”
The bill, which passed the House in May, saw a largely partisan split, though it did face opposition from two Republicans concerned about insufficient spending cuts and the ballooning national debt. Notably, GOP Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky has also voiced his reservations, particularly over the debt ceiling increase, which he considers a deal-breaker.
While Trump has criticized Paul and others for their opposition, he seems to be taking a more diplomatic approach regarding Musk’s comments. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed Musk’s remarks, emphasizing that the president remains committed to the bill. “This is one big, beautiful bill and he’s sticking to it,” she asserted.
Musk, who spearheaded cost-cutting initiatives at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has been vocal about his disappointment, arguing that the bill undermines the department’s efforts. His criticism has sparked frustration among some Republicans, who believe there is “no place in Congress” for such dissent.
In a CBS interview, Trump acknowledged Musk’s criticism but shifted the focus to the necessity of garnering votes to pass the bill. “Number one, we have to get a lot of votes, we can’t be cutting — we need to get a lot of support and we have a lot of support,” he stated, highlighting the lack of Democratic backing for the bill.
As the debate continues, it’s clear that the spending bill remains a contentious issue, with strong opinions on both sides. However, the president’s determination to push it through underscores his commitment to what he believes is a crucial piece of legislation for the country’s future.

The senate, notably demopervs are the big problem. Leftist won’t support anything not gushing and bulging with pork and payoffs, and Republicans aren’t much better…..

The uniparty has to go. They don’t have any concept of how to balance a checkbook. They are the problem.
