Do You Believe Trump’s Tariff Strategy Justifies the Record Tax Revenue?
Here’s The Scoop
As President Donald Trump approaches a crucial global trade deadline, his bold tariff strategy is delivering significant results, with revenues hitting an impressive $150 billion so far this year. This achievement underscores the effectiveness of Trump’s America First trade policies, which are reshaping international commerce to prioritize American interests.
In July alone, the U.S. collected a staggering $28 billion in customs duties, marking the highest monthly total of the year, according to the Treasury Department. This surge follows a record-setting June and highlights the administration’s commitment to leveraging tariffs as a tool to bolster the nation’s economic standing.
Back in January, tariff revenues were at $7.9 billion, but by April, they had more than doubled to $16.3 billion, showcasing the rapid escalation and impact of these measures.
As Trump enters the final week of pivotal trade negotiations, his recent deal with the European Union, America’s largest trading partner, and a separate agreement with Japan, demonstrate his prowess in securing favorable terms for the United States on the global stage.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has projected that tariffs could generate over $300 billion in revenue, a testament to the administration’s strategic foresight. While critics argue that U.S. businesses bear the initial costs of these import taxes, it’s clear that Trump’s policies are designed to ultimately strengthen American industry and protect jobs.
As the administration continues to champion rising tariff revenues, it’s crucial to recognize the broader goal: securing a prosperous future for American workers and ensuring that our nation remains a dominant force in the global economy.

Who is paying the import duty tariffs? The poor schmuck importer of the cheap Chinese toys. Make that the Communist Chinese toys. The solution is simple: Look for the country of origin label. If it says ‘made in China’, put the item back on the shelf and walk away,

THIS COUNTRY USE TO RUN ON TARIFFS UNTIL THE PROGRESSIVE DIDN’T THINK THEY WERE GETTING ENOUGH MONEY TO SPEND ON THEIR PET PROJECTS!! SO, IN 1913 THEY PAST THE “REVENUE TAX ACT OF 1913”!!!
The income tax was reinstated in 1913 primarily due to the ratification of the 16th Amendment, which allowed the federal government to impose a tax on income. This change was driven by the need to fund growing public services and social stability programs during the Progressive(SOCIALIST)Era, as well as to ensure that higher-income individuals contributed fairly to government revenue, reducing reliance on tariffs and taxes on goods. The Revenue Act of 1913 restored the federal income tax for the first time since 1872, following the previous income tax being struck down by the Supreme Court.

Yes, and while Income Tax is Constitutional, the scheme that has long been in use – the “progressive income tax” is not as it violates the 14th Amendment’s guarantee of Equal Protection. The only way income tax jibes with the 14th Amendment is if it’s a flat-rate tax equally applied to all.
