Despite claims of a declining homicide rate, Baltimore’s crime statistics remain alarming. The nonprofit Just Facts highlights that the city’s murder rate is 6.8 times the national average for metropolitan areas. If trends continue, a shocking 1 in 38 Baltimoreans could face a violent end.
Local leaders, however, have resisted federal intervention, opting instead to bolster city safety with state law enforcement resources. This decision follows a high-profile walk through troubled neighborhoods by Scott and Moore, a move criticized by Trump, who has challenged Moore to invite him for a similar tour.
