Do You Support Senator Schepisi’s Effort to Exempt Newborns from Gender Identity Questions in New Jersey?

In the latest example of government overreach, new parents in New Jersey are being handed forms from Inspira Health that ask about their newborn’s sexual orientation and gender identity. Yes, you read that right—newborns. This absurdity stems from a New Jersey law that mandates the collection of data on patients’ race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

Republican State Senator Holly Schepisi, a mother herself, is taking a stand against this nonsense. Initially skeptical of the viral form, Schepisi confirmed its authenticity and is now pushing legislation to exempt minors from these intrusive questions. She rightly points out that the law, enacted under Democratic Governor Phil Murphy, is forcing health networks to comply with these ridiculous requirements, even though they face backlash from patients.

The law insists on data collection in a “culturally competent and sensitive manner,” a term so vague it’s practically meaningless. Schepisi is optimistic about gaining bipartisan support to protect minors from this overreach, noting that even some Democrats were shocked to learn about the form’s existence.

Inspira Health claims they’re just following orders from the state, allowing parents to decline answering these questions. But why should they have to? Assemblyman John Azzariti, a medical doctor, called the form “absurd,” and he’s backing Schepisi’s legislation in the Assembly.

This is yet another example of how far-left policies are creeping into every aspect of our lives, even into the hospital rooms of newborns. Schepisi points out that this initiative came straight from Governor Murphy’s office and was rushed through the legislative process in record time.

It’s time to push back against this madness and protect our children from unnecessary and intrusive government mandates.
