Do You Trust ABC to Remain Unbiased During the Debate?
Here’s The Scoop
ABC News has released the rules for the upcoming debate between Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris, which is set to take place on Tuesday. The debate will be moderated by “World News Tonight” anchor David Muir and “Prime” anchor Linsey Davis.
The rules, which were initially agreed upon in May when Trump was expected to face President Joe Biden, aim to ensure a fair and orderly discussion. Here are the key points:
- No opening statements; each candidate will have two minutes for closing statements.
- Candidates will stand behind podiums for the entire debate.
- Props or prewritten notes are strictly prohibited onstage.
- No topics or questions will be shared in advance with the campaigns or candidates.
- Each candidate will be provided with a pen, a pad of paper, and a bottle of water.
- Candidates will have two minutes to answer questions, two minutes for rebuttals, and one extra minute for follow-ups, clarifications, or responses.
- Microphones will be live only for the candidate whose turn it is to speak and muted when it is the other candidate’s turn.
- Candidates are not allowed to ask questions of each other.
- Campaign staff may not interact with candidates during commercial breaks.
- Moderators will enforce timing agreements to ensure a civilized discussion.
- There will be no audience in the room.
In a move that reeks of desperation, Harris’ campaign has already started complaining, even though they accepted the debate rules. They claim that the format puts Harris at a disadvantage.
“Vice President Harris, a former prosecutor, will be fundamentally disadvantaged by this format, which will serve to shield Donald Trump from direct exchanges with the Vice President,” the Harris campaign whined in a letter to ABC News. “We suspect this is the primary reason for his campaign’s insistence on muted microphones.”
Despite their complaints, the Harris campaign agreed to the rules, likely because they knew Trump would not back down.
The Trump campaign is focused on maintaining a fair and orderly debate, while the Harris camp is already making excuses. This debate will be a crucial moment for voters to see the stark contrast between a strong, decisive leader like Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, who seems more interested in playing the victim card.
Stay tuned, America. This is one debate you won’t want to miss.

I doubt every word of your article stating that the Harris campaign is complaining about these rules. More than likely, it is probably the Trump campaign that’s is complaining.

I doubt Trump would be complaining. He previously agreed to those rules. Harris will be cackleing through most of it anyway.

This debate is going to be very interesting when Harris falls on her face she won’t be able to answer many questions.

Harris doesn’t want the general public to know how stupid she is. ABC will leak the questions to Kameltoe anyway

Trust Disney-owned ABC to be unbiased in a debate between a Conservative & a Liberal? Yeah, in a fairytale…

I will be tuning in out of curiosity. My question is why does she have to take so many days prior to the debate to prepare? Prepare for what? Obviously she has the questions already and is using this time to come up with the answers. As a former prosecutor this should be a piece of cake for her and she should be spending her time on the campaign trail. I can’t envision her talking to Putin with her word salads. So disgraceful!!

This Comment section is so blatantly pro-Trump. Trump has conned you people into believing all his lies, and when he loses the election, you won’t accept it and further his con. Wake up MAGA, you are the real threat to democracy. I am an ex-republican (Left the party after MAGA republicans took over). I am 65 years old retired military, and this religious hypocrite, draft dodging grifter doesn’t deserve anyone’s respect. Get back to true conservatism and not the cult of trump.

Maga is destroying democracy? How so? Democrats installed Harris, with zero votes, and booted biden, with 11 million votes. Looks like election interference to me. Just like they rigged 2020, but right out in the open this time.

Kamala Harris and Walz are commies, they want one world order just like the Bushes, Clinton’s, Obama’s don’t you see? Trump is not a politician, he’s a businessman and wants what’s best for our country.
