Conway, the husband of former Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway who built his entire public persona on attacking the 45th president, discovered that endless cable news appearances don’t translate to ballot box success. His campaign, fueled by nothing more than anti-Trump rhetoric and establishment backing, failed to resonate with actual constituents concerned about real issues affecting their daily lives.

Schlossberg, JFK’s grandson who has used his family name to launch attacks on conservatives from his privileged perch, fared no better. The young political hopeful learned that being born into American political royalty doesn’t automatically earn you votes when you have nothing substantive to offer.

The primary results reveal a critical truth that the mainstream media refuses to acknowledge: Americans are tired of performative politics. Voters want representatives focused on solving problems, not building personal brands through viral moments and cable news hits.

Both Conway and Schlossberg ran campaigns centered almost entirely on their opposition to Trump and MAGA Republicans. In a district that voted overwhelmingly for Biden, this strategy should have been foolproof according to conventional political wisdom. Instead, it backfired spectacularly.

Schlossberg’s defeat similarly exposes the hollowness of trading on family legacy without demonstrating personal merit or policy expertise. His social media presence and media interviews couldn’t compensate for a lack of genuine political experience or connection to the community he sought to represent.

The results send a clear message: even Democratic voters are growing weary of candidates whose entire platform consists of attacking Trump and Republicans. When pressed to articulate positive visions for their communities, both challengers came up empty.

This primary also demonstrates that conservative criticisms of the left’s obsession with celebrity and virtue signaling have merit. Voters across the political spectrum ultimately care more about competence and real solutions than performative outrage and media-friendly soundbites.

The mainstream media, which provided both candidates with extensive free publicity, now has egg on its face. Their preferred challengers, amplified through countless interviews and favorable coverage, couldn’t convert that attention into actual votes.

Both Conway and Schlossberg will likely retreat to their comfortable roles as media commentators, where failure has no consequences and reality never intrudes on carefully constructed narratives. But this electoral defeat serves as proof that actual voters see through the performance.

Americans deserve better than celebrity politicians trading on name recognition and resistance credentials instead of genuine public service.
