  • Justice Clarence Thomas called on citizens to take greater ownership of their nation.
  • He warned that passivity can leave outside influences shaping public thinking.
  • The message centered on education, responsibility, and active civic participation.

Justice Clarence Thomas recently issued a call to action at the University of Texas, urging citizens to reclaim ownership of their nation. The principled jurist warned that failing to take responsibility allows outside influences to dictate how Americans think and live.

Thomas emphasized that the solution to national frustration lies in education and a renewed commitment to our founding principles.

“I think if we don’t stand up and take ownership of our country, and take responsibility for it, we are slowly letting others control how we think and what we think,” Thomas stated.

He challenged the audience to stop acting as spectators when they see the state being run in a manner inconsistent with their values.

Responsibility for the future rests solely with the individual voter and their willingness to shape the system.

“I think the beauty of going to school is that you learn how to think for yourselves. You develop the discipline to think things through,” the Justice added.

Meaningful change is impossible through passive loyalty or waiting for others to take the lead. We must follow the example of grassroots movements that turn individual frustration into national political power.

The Constitution must be defended.
