  • Federal prosecutors moved swiftly to protect a grieving American family from cross-state intimidation after a jury delivered justice for Austin Metcalf.
  • Each new threat underscores why strong enforcement of interstate communications laws is essential to safeguarding constitutional rights and public safety.
  • Radical activists who tried to turn a brutal murder into a racial crusade are now facing legal consequences for their campaign of fear.

A Missouri woman now faces three federal felony counts after allegedly terrorizing the family of Austin Metcalf in the days following Karmelo Anthony’s conviction for the teen’s murder.

Sharifa Nicole Henderson, 34, was arrested in Kansas City on September 11 and indicted by a federal grand jury in Texas for interstate threatening communications.

Prosecutors say Henderson sent three separate death threats to the Metcalf family within 48 hours of Anthony’s June 9 conviction.

“now this is a threat take me to court [expletive],” Henderson allegedly wrote in a June 10 Facebook Messenger message, according to the indictment.

She followed up the same day with a call to Collin County officials, vowing to “demolish” the family and “strangle” one of its members.

“Don’t worry I’ll kill you next,” Henderson is accused of writing in another message the next day. “I will hunt you forever until I kill you…I will be there. You will always have to look over your [expletive] shoulder.”

Jeff Metcalf, the slain teen’s father, told local media his family has endured more than 100 threats since the verdict, describing the wave of harassment as relentless and chilling.

The case became a flashpoint after activists and some radical voices tried to frame the brutal stabbing as a racial injustice, despite clear evidence and Anthony’s own confession that he “did it.”

A jury ultimately sentenced the 19-year-old to 35 years in prison for the April 2025 killing at a Frisco high school track meet.

Americans deserve better.
