California has voted to ban the sale of new gas-powered vehicles by 2035, an aggressive move to combat the climate crisis.
According to NBC News: “California’s new rule says 100% of new vehicles sold in the state by 2035 must not emit greenhouse gases. The California Air Resources Board also set an interim goal to have 35% of new cars sold produce zero emissions by 2026, with a 68% goal for 2030.”

EVs are far from market ready. When they become competitive with ICE cars, people will buy them without coercion. Until then they are a bad political odor.
