Should We Dismantle the Electoral College?

Should We Dismantle the Electoral College?

Here’s The Scoop

Democrats are panicking as their once-reliable blue wall in the upper Midwest states starts crumbling, forcing them to focus on winning a single district in Nebraska this November.

The Democratic super PAC Future Forward USA recently reserved a whopping $130 million in advertising from late August through Election Day, including $3.7 million in Nebraska’s 2nd District. This is a significant increase from the mere $698,775 they spent in the same district in 2020.

This desperate move comes as Democrats face an uncertain future in crucial swing states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin due to population changes.

“The industrial north strategy – the old blue wall that held even for Al Gore and John Kerry when they lost – you now need Nebraska-2 to make that math work,” said Kyle Kondik, an election handicapper at the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics.

The importance of this single Electoral College vote cannot be overstated, as Nebraska is not a winner-take-all state. Biden won the district in 2020, joining Barack Obama, who prevailed there in 2008, as the only other Democrat to do so since 1991.

Biden’s campaign is also scrambling to gain support in states like Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, and Arizona, where winning the Hispanic and black votes are crucial.

However, they face an unexpected challenge from long-shot presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running as an independent and gaining support among southern black voters, including those in Georgia.

As the blue wall crumbles, it’s clear that the Democrats are grasping at straws, desperately trying to hold onto power.

The question remains: Should we dismantle the Electoral College and expose our nation to the chaos of a popular vote, or should we uphold the system that has served us well for centuries?

One more step to completely destroy this country. The Electoral Collage is designed to prevent two or three states from controlling our country. Each state is given an equal voice in the election process. Not what the communists want!

Terry is right !! Should the Electoral College be dismantled, big states like California, New York will have the power to elect our President.
And small States like New Jersey, Rhode Island, Maine will have NO say !! That is why our forefathers enacted it !!

Excuse me, people, the big states already have the power. In fact, states like California have far more power under the Electoral College that they would in a direct vote. How? The Census counts ALL people regardless of whether they are citizens, Resident Aliens, or Illegal Aliens and uses those numbers to determine apportionment of Representatives in the House. Number of Representatives + 2 (for each state’s Senators) = number of Electors. California and other “Sanctuary states” have millions of illegals that gain them Representatives (and, thus, Electors) to which they would otherwise not be entitled. Say each seat in the House currently costs 770,000 residents (335,000,000 divided by 435 seats). Say California had 4 million illegals counted (or estimated) in the last census (and the real number was likely well higher). That would mean California STOLE 5 SEATS in the House and, thus, 5 Electors from other states! With Direct Election you have none of these shenanigans AND states are actually disincentivized to welcome large populations of illegals. EVERY American’s vote would count equally, no matter where they lived. The Electoral system wasn’t instituted because it was “better” nor because it was “fair,” it was instituted solely as a token for the smaller Colonies to give them the ILLUSION of equality with the larger Colonies in an election so they would sign on to the whole “United States” idea. There is no longer any need for the fiction!
