New York City’s Socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani is under fire after unveiling a citywide racial equity plan that critics say may violate federal law. The proposal aims to utilize 45 city agencies to prioritize resources for specific racial groups, sparking concerns about constitutional fairness.
Assistant U.S. Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon labeled the scheme as potentially illegal and promised a formal review of the administration’s actions. This push for radical redistribution is the latest attempt by progressives to bypass equal protection under the law for woke ideology.
“And while today’s True Cost of Living Measure confirms that the affordability crisis touches every corner of our city, we know that these effects are not applied evenly. So often it is black and brown New Yorkers who are hit the hardest,” Mamdani stated.
Mamdani admitted his plan uses a singular framework across the entire city bureaucracy to address alleged institutional racism. This whole-of-government approach threatens to further divide citizens while expanding the reach of the socialist agenda in the Big Apple.
