Eighty-Three Percent Back Election Day Mail Ballot Deadlines

Liberty Check

  • 83% of likely voters want mail-in ballots received no later than Election Day to protect election integrity.
  • 78% say an Election Day deadline makes elections more secure for everyone.
  • 59% would not trust election results if ballots received after Election Day are counted.

Eighty-three percent of likely voters agree that mail-in ballots should be received no later than Election Day to ensure the integrity of our democratic process.

This bipartisan consensus emerges as the Supreme Court prepares to hear arguments regarding the constitutionality of late-ballot laws that threaten to undermine public trust.

Current statutes in 14 states allow ballots to arrive days after the polls close.

The majority of citizens believe this makes it easier for bad actors to cheat.

Secure elections require uniformity and a definitive end to the voting process to prevent disenfranchisement and administrative chaos.

Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, argues that late-ballot policies are not only unpopular but inherently illegal under federal standards.

“The Supreme Court has a prime opportunity to keep it easy to vote and make it harder to cheat by upholding the rule of law and ensuring that ‘Election Day’ means Election Day.”

The Constitution grants Congress the authority to set a single, uniform Election Day to promote nationwide consistency and voter confidence.

Protecting the sanctity of the ballot box is the only way to safeguard the Republic from the erosion of its foundational principles.

It’s time to push back.
