WNBA Coach Claims She’s ‘Not Educated’ on Basic Biology — Science Says Otherwise

Liberty Check

  • WNBA coach Stephanie White refused to affirm biological reality, claiming insufficient education on whether men belong in women’s sports
  • Decades of biological and sports science confirm undeniable physical advantages males retain after puberty — advantages that don’t vanish based on identity
  • Protecting women’s sports isn’t hate — it’s defending fairness, safety, and the very reason Title IX exists

Before the Indiana Fever secured their fifth consecutive victory — with Caitlin Clark notching her fourth career triple-double and Sophie Cunningham lighting up the scoreboard — head coach Stephanie White made a stunning pregame claim. She said she wasn’t “educated enough from a scientific standpoint” to answer whether males should compete in women’s sports.

Whether that’s truly the case or convenient deflection, here’s what decades of biological and sports science have consistently shown, Coach White.

Following puberty, males develop physical advantages that are exhaustively documented in medical and sports performance research. Those differences don’t disappear simply because someone decides to identify as female.

Among the most significant biological differences are increased bone density, larger lung capacity, greater muscle mass, enhanced cardiovascular performance, and higher baseline strength and speed. These aren’t minor distinctions — they’re foundational differences that fundamentally impact athletic competition.

These biological realities are precisely why men’s and women’s sports have separate competitive categories in the first place. They are why Title IX exists.

Across nearly every measurable athletic performance — from sprinting and jumping to throwing, lifting, and endurance — elite male performances exceed elite female performances. This isn’t subjective opinion or cultural bias. It’s measurable, repeatable science.

This isn’t about effort, dedication, or the extraordinary talent of female athletes. Women have earned opportunities to compete on a level playing field against other women. That’s what fairness looks like.

If the concern is fairness and safety in women’s sports, then biological sex matters. It has always mattered, and no amount of political correctness changes physiology.

Coach White, you said you weren’t sufficiently informed on the science. Now you are.

The conversation should be grounded in biology, physiology, and competitive fairness. Admitting that men in women’s sports is neither safe nor fair is not “transphobia” or “hate.” It’s actually one of the best ways to show you genuinely support the first letter of the WNBA acronym — women.

The science and biology behind this issue has been well established since the dawn of time. Males and females are different. That’s not controversial — it’s chromosomal fact.

Now is the time for women in the WNBA to stop politically pandering, stop gaslighting conservatives who have helped make the league notable and potentially profitable for the first time in its 30-year history, and start defending the integrity of women’s sports.

Coach White, it’s time to join forces with your player, Sophie Cunningham. It’s time to proclaim common sense and stand up for the many women and girls affected by men competing in their sports.

Our freedoms depend on staying vigilant.
