  • UFC President Dana White personally appealed to President Trump to block a radical gambling tax scheme that would devastate American sports fans and small bettors
  • Far-left Nevada Democrat introduced legislation that would force recreational gamblers to pay taxes on individual bets — turning casual wagers into an IRS nightmare
  • White’s intervention highlights how the left’s tax-and-regulate obsession threatens everyday Americans trying to enjoy their freedoms

UFC President Dana White has taken his fight directly to President Donald Trump, requesting federal intervention to stop a disastrous gambling tax provision that threatens to punish millions of Americans who place sports bets.

White sent a formal letter to the president seeking assistance in blocking legislation introduced by Nevada Democrat Dina Titus. The so-called “Fair Accounting for Income Realized from Betting Earnings Taxation Act” would fundamentally change how gambling winnings are taxed — and not in favor of the American people.

The legislation comes on the heels of the Online Betting and Betting Activities Act passing, setting the stage for an unprecedented tax grab from Washington bureaucrats eager to squeeze more money from working Americans.

This latest scheme from the left would force recreational gamblers to account for taxes on a bet-by-bet basis rather than their net winnings over the course of a year. For the average sports fan making small wagers, this creates a paperwork nightmare and potential tax burden that could exceed their actual winnings.

White’s decision to personally appeal to President Trump demonstrates the severity of the threat. The UFC chief has been a loyal Trump supporter and understands that this administration remains the last line of defense against government overreach.

Nevada, despite being home to America’s gambling capital, continues to produce Democrats who seem determined to strangle the very industries that built their state. Titus’s proposal represents classic Washington thinking — find a popular activity and tax it until it hurts.

The timing couldn’t be worse for American sports fans. As betting becomes more accessible and mainstream, the left sees dollar signs and an opportunity to expand federal control over yet another aspect of daily life.

Conservative principles have always favored keeping the government’s hands out of Americans’ pockets. This gambling tax scheme violates that fundamental belief, treating citizens like ATMs for an ever-expanding federal bureaucracy.

White’s letter to Trump signals that the fight over this tax provision will become a major battleground between those who trust Americans with their own money and those who believe Washington knows best.

The sports betting industry has created thousands of jobs and generated billions in economic activity since states began legalizing it. Rather than celebrating this success, Democrats see it as another revenue stream to fund their wasteful spending priorities.

Americans deserve better than politicians who view every aspect of life as a taxable event.
