LA County Advances Ban on ICE Presence

Liberty Check

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is advancing an ordinance barring federal immigration officers from county-owned properties. County officials are fast-tracking legal counsel to solidify this plan, creating so-called ‘ICE-free’ zones.

  • The ordinance would prevent ICE agents from operating, staging, or processing on county grounds.
  • All five supervisors voted in favor of moving the proposal forward within thirty days.
  • This push follows a controversial incident where an ICE agent fatally shot a resident, which is being scrutinized for possible excessive force.

Supervisor Lindsay Horvath claimed, “Los Angeles County will not allow its property to be used as a staging ground for violence caused by the Trump administration.”

Proponents argue this measure protects local control, but it also risks undermining cooperation with federal law enforcement and threatens constitutional principles of federal supremacy.

Opponents warn that limiting ICE’s ability to enforce federal law could erode the rule of law, jeopardize public safety, and set a dangerous precedent.

Stay informed and hold your elected officials accountable for decisions that impact public safety and national sovereignty.

It’s time to push back.

That can’t happen, because of the Supremacy clause of the Constitution. They’re going to find out the hard way, that they are wrong on so many levels, and pay a high price.
