In a fiery exchange that underscores the ongoing political battles in Washington, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt took aim at Senator Chuck Schumer for his attempt to pin blame on former President Donald Trump following a Delta airliner crash in Toronto. Schumer, in a series of social media posts, suggested that Trump’s alleged cuts to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) workforce were a contributing factor to the accident.
Leavitt, speaking on “America Reports,” called Schumer’s comments “incredibly irresponsible,” especially given that the investigation into the crash is still ongoing. The incident involved a Delta Air Lines plane that flipped upside-down upon landing in Toronto, sparking flames and panic. Fortunately, all 80 passengers survived, though 18 were injured, with three in critical condition.
The crash has ignited political debate, with Schumer accusing Trump of making the skies less safe due to supposed layoffs at the FAA. However, Leavitt was quick to counter these claims, pointing out that the crash occurred in Canadian airspace under the direction of Canadian air-traffic controllers. She emphasized that no air-traffic controllers have been laid off under Trump’s administration. Instead, she highlighted Trump’s commitment to merit-based hiring, ensuring that the FAA is staffed with the most competent individuals.
Leavitt also took the opportunity to criticize the Biden administration, particularly former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, for what she described as a lack of action on aviation safety over the past four years. In her view, the current administration has failed to prioritize the safety and efficiency of America’s skies.
In a political climate where every incident becomes a potential point of contention, Leavitt’s defense of Trump’s aviation policies and her critique of the current administration resonate with those who feel that America’s safety should not be compromised by political gamesmanship.

Chuck Schumer is all about Chuckles. Has he ever done one positive thing for America? He makes speeches that are negative and stir up anger.

President Trump gets accused of everything so this is no different. But my answer is NO! The FAA have a job to do and a the biggest part is keeping Americans save when flying. Things happen, that is just part of it. But the shear number of accidents recently is a bit concerning. Is the FAA doing this in retaliation for Trump being duly elected because they are a progressive organization?? If so, they all need to go and bring on people who will do the job of protecting the American people!

Having been a Pilot for more than 50 years. Over 28,000 flight hours, as a pilot for the airlines and corporate aviation, I can see right through the fear mongering Chuckles is trying to spread.
1. The final say so by Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) regulations has the Pilot in Command as the authority over FAA.
2. FAA has no authority in this matter in a foreign country beyond the registration of the aircraft
3. With NO cut in Air Traffic Controllers (ATC), there is no change in operational issues.
4. Look back to the Reagan era, he fired most ATC employees if they did not go back to work. During that time I NEVER had a single problem with ATC or their procedures.
