Stacey Abrams Reframes Election Loss as ‘Progress’

Liberty Check

  • Stacey Abrams claims she never denied losing the 2018 Georgia governor race, but instead sought to inspire her supporters by ‘redefining victory.’
  • She previously accused Gov. Brian Kemp of voter suppression but later said she accepted his win ‘under the rules that were in place.’
  • Abrams now urges Democrats not to rely solely on election wins to define success, cautioning against expecting ‘cinematic moments’ in politics.

Stacey Abrams went on MSNBC and told host Nicolle Wallace that she ‘never denied’ her 2018 defeat for Georgia governor, choosing instead to reframe the outcome for her base.

Abrams, who refused a formal concession at the time and accused then-Secretary of State Brian Kemp of implementing voter suppression, has since accepted his victory according to the election rules.

“In 2018, when I lost my election, I was never confused about it,” Abrams stated. “I had conversations with communities, and I would say, ‘We won’, and that just would send people into these, you know, paroxysms of hatred. What I was telling them is: ‘Look, not getting the title did not mean that we didn’t make progress.’”

She argued that small steps and ‘progress’ can be considered victory, especially when defending democracy and freedom.

“But if we have to wait for this large announcement, like elections, to say that ‘This is when we win,’ we’re going to keep losing,” Abrams said, pushing for recognizing incremental progress rather than only major wins.

Constitutional conservatives know that the integrity of elections must be upheld, and Americans must demand clarity and accountability from every candidate—no exceptions or reframing.

Our freedoms depend on staying vigilant.
