Calls Mount to Remove Georgetown Professor Over Dangerous Comments

  • Georgetown professor Jonathan A. C. Brown drew outrage after telling critics to “get over it.”
  • The remarks focused on concerns about violent rape gangs in the United Kingdom.
  • Campus Republicans say the comments fit a broader pattern of reckless rhetoric.

A prominent Georgetown University professor is sparking outrage after dismissing concerns regarding the rise of violent rape gangs in the United Kingdom. Jonathan A. C. Brown, who chairs the Islamic Civilization department, told critics to simply “get over it” when confronted with the crisis.

These dismissive remarks provide a chilling look into the ivory tower’s disregard for public safety and the rule of law.

University leaders often preach tolerance, yet they harbor faculty who minimize horrific crimes against women.

Shae McInnis, president of the campus College Republicans, noted that this instance is part of a “troubling pattern of reckless, incendiary, and dangerous statements.”

“Comments like these reflect a worldview fundamentally at odds with Georgetown’s core values and are a disgrace to our academic community,” McInnis stated.

This is not the first time Brown has courted controversy with radical stances.

Reports indicate he previously called for military strikes against U.S. bases and has even defended historical practices of slavery.

Taxpayers and parents must demand accountability from institutions that employ individuals who excuse violence.

Protecting our communities requires confronting the truth, even when it is politically inconvenient.
