Former Louisiana Teacher Arrested as Student Abuse Allegations Expand

A former fifth-grade teacher in Louisiana has been arrested on 25 charges involving her minor students. Marisa Noel, 31, faces counts including first-degree rape and indecent behavior with juveniles following an investigation by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities allege Noel abused her position of trust at Teche Elementary School to target children. The investigation began in January after reports of an inappropriate relationship with a former student surfaced.

Liberty Check

  • Protecting the innocence of children is a fundamental duty of a civilized society.
  • Public institutions must be held strictly accountable for those they allow into positions of authority over youth.
  • The expansion of the investigation suggests a systemic failure in safeguarding students from predatory behavior.

Multiple agencies, including the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security, collaborated to uncover additional victims.

Records show Noel is currently being held at the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center as the investigation continues. No bond has been set for the latest charges, though her previous bail was established at $750,000.

Our freedoms depend on staying vigilant.
