Do You Agree That Biden’s Pardon of Hunter Damages Trust in Our Justice System

Here’s The Scoop

In a move that has left many Americans shaking their heads, President Joe Biden has decided to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, despite previously pledging not to do so. This decision, announced over the weekend, has sparked outrage and disbelief among Republicans and even some Democrats.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) was quick to criticize the president’s actions, highlighting the damage this pardon does to the integrity of our justice system. Johnson took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his dismay, stating, “President Biden insisted many times he would never pardon his own son for his serious crimes. But last night he suddenly granted a ‘Full and Unconditional Pardon’ for any and all offenses that Hunter committed for more than a decade!”

The president’s about-face on this issue has left many questioning his commitment to justice and transparency. Johnson emphasized the urgent need for reform, saying, “Trust in our justice system has been almost irreparably damaged by the Bidens and their use and abuse of it. Real reform cannot begin soon enough!”

This pardon comes just weeks before Hunter Biden was scheduled to face sentencing for charges that could have landed him up to 17 years in prison. These charges include spending millions from foreign business ventures on illicit activities and failing to pay substantial taxes. Additionally, Hunter was set to be sentenced in December for lying on a federal form about his drug use to purchase a firearm.

The president attempted to justify his decision by claiming the charges were politically motivated, calling it a “miscarriage of justice.” However, this explanation has done little to quell the backlash from both sides of the aisle. Even some Democrats have joined Republicans in condemning the pardon. Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) remarked, “A president’s family and allies shouldn’t get special treatment. This was an improper use of power, it erodes trust in our government, and it emboldens others to bend justice to suit their interests.”

Rep. James Comer (R-KY) didn’t mince words, accusing President Biden of lying about his family’s activities and using his power to shield them from accountability. Comer stated, “Joe Biden has lied from start to finish about his family’s corrupt influence-peddling activities. It’s unfortunate that, rather than come clean about their decades of wrongdoing, President Biden and his family continue to do everything they can to avoid accountability.”

This latest development raises serious questions about the Biden administration’s commitment to justice and transparency. As the nation grapples with this controversial decision, many are left wondering if true accountability will ever be achieved.

No, it has no effect on our justice system at all, as a Presidential Pardon occurs entirely OUTSIDE of the justice system. What a stupid & ignorant question!
