The House Judiciary Committee has issued a subpoena for former Special Counsel Jack Smith to answer for prosecutions linked to President Trump and his associates during the 2024 election season.

Chairman Jim Jordan ordered Smith to testify on December 17 and to submit requested documents by December 12.

Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Smith to investigate Trump’s document retention and his remarks regarding the 2020 election.

The FBI, with Garland’s approval, launched the Arctic Frost probe into Trump.

  • Records reveal Smith’s team and DOJ officials planned to subpoena more than eight GOP senators.
  • Republicans have condemned Smith’s acquisition of senators’ phone records as “brazen” and unconstitutional.
  • Jordan accused Smith of silencing Trump, conducting abusive raids, and using political pressure during investigations.

Smith’s reluctance to cooperate with congressional oversight could lead to contempt proceedings.

The committee wants all documents on Smith’s appointment.

It also seeks contacts with the Biden administration and records on decisions behind his aggressive prosecution tactics.

The Constitution must be defended.
