- Laidlaw played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1975 to 1979, winning a Super Bowl in 1977.
- He was part of the Cowboys’ notable “Dirty Dozen” rookie class and also played for the New York Giants.
- In the 1978 postseason, Laidlaw scored rushing touchdowns in both the NFC Championship and Divisional Round.
Laidlaw’s story represents the classic American ideal—hard work, perseverance, and honor both on and off the field. Patriots appreciate football’s place in our culture, where discipline, teamwork, and excellence still matter.
“It’s fun,” said Laidlaw about a reunion with teammates. “It’s interesting to see what everyone’s been doing – how they’re reacting to everything. It’s good. Since we’ve been playing we haven’t been together like this before so it’s very exciting.”
