Dem AG Hopeful Shrugs Off Posts Comparing D-Day Troops To Antifa

• Compares American heroes who stormed Normandy to Antifa rioters
• Shrugs off 2020 BLM-era posts as no big deal
• Seeks to become Iowa’s top law enforcement officer

Democrat Nate Willems is running for Iowa Attorney General and appears unconcerned about old social media posts that equated D-Day troops with Antifa. During the 2020 riots, Willems shared multiple tweets that drew direct parallels between American soldiers fighting Nazi Germany and masked militants torching American cities.

When asked about the posts, Willems gave a flat response that he had no recollection or explanation. The flippant reply has drawn sharp criticism from veterans and conservatives who see the comparison as an insult to the Greatest Generation.

“I have no idea” was the extent of his answer, according to local reporting. Critics argue that someone seeking to enforce the law should at least be able to explain why he once celebrated political violence.

Our freedoms depend on staying vigilant.
