DHS Agents Face Escalating Dangers Amid Funding Stalemate and Border Clashes

A Venezuelan national, Arnoldo Jose Marquez-Pulido, faces federal charges after assaulting a DHS Homeland Security Task Force agent and seizing the officer’s firearm during a violent struggle in Utica, Michigan.
Officers were surveilling a business employing illegal immigrants when Marquez-Pulido fled a traffic stop at high speed.
He returned on foot, struck the agent with his elbow, and grabbed the agent’s Glock 19 pistol before it was recovered.
Agents sustained injuries including contusions and abrasions, treated and released from a hospital.
He entered the U.S. illegally at San Ysidro, California, in 2024.
“Some say that enforcing our nation’s immigration laws is unfair because illegal aliens are all harmless.”
U.S. Attorney Jerome Gorgon stated.
“High speed flight from arrest, fighting federal agents, and grabbing an agent’s gun are not ‘harmless,’”
He added.
“And what’s ‘unfair’ is the fact that Americans pay the price for dangerous illegal aliens.”
Democrats, led by Chuck Schumer, block full DHS funding, refusing to support ICE and CBP amid the shutdown.
They are playing political games that endanger officers enforcing constitutional border security.
Urge Congress to end the DHS standoff and fully enforce immigration laws now.
It’s time to push back.
