ISIS-Convicted Gunman Targets ROTC Class in Deadly University Rampage

Liberty Check

  • Federal failures allowed an ISIS-convicted immigrant to gain citizenship and access weapons, endangering Americans’ Second Amendment sanctuary on campuses.
  • Heroic students’ swift action embodies constitutional self-defense rights against unchecked radical threats.
  • Government must prioritize border security and deport threats to protect military heroes training future defenders of freedom.

A decorated Army Lt. Col. Brandon Shah, ROTC instructor at Old Dominion University, was fatally shot by terrorist Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, a naturalized citizen from Sierra Leone and former National Guardsman convicted of ISIS support.

Jallor stormed an ROTC classroom, confirmed its identity, and opened fire while shouting “Allahu Akbar,” prompting FBI terrorism investigation.

Brave ROTC students subdued the gunman, who was later found dead.

FBI Director Kash Patel praised their actions.

“Earlier today, an armed individual opened fire at Old Dominion University, leaving one person dead and two others wounded. The shooter is now deceased thanks to a group of brave students who stepped in and subdued him – actions that undoubtedly saved lives along with the quick response of law enforcement…”

Shah flew Apache missions in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Eastern Europe, logging over 1,200 hours including 600 combat, before leading ODU’s ROTC with 50% enrollment growth.

ODU President Brian O. Hemphill hailed Shah as a “true hero,” devoted family man, leader, and protector.

Demand Congress enforce strict immigration vetting and bolster defenses against jihadist infiltration now.

Our freedoms depend on staying vigilant.
