Trump Slams Jobs Data, Calls Out Manipulation

President Donald Trump is once again sounding the alarm about the integrity of America’s economic data. On Friday, Trump accused the Bureau of Labor Statistics of deliberately skewing monthly jobs numbers to favor President Joe Biden and undercut Republicans—especially ahead of and after the 2024 presidential election.
“In my opinion, today’s Jobs Numbers were RIGGED in order to make the Republicans, and ME, look bad — Just like when they had three great days around the 2024 Presidential Election, and then, those numbers were ‘taken away’ on November 15, 2024, right after the Election, when the Jobs Numbers were massively revised DOWNWARD, making a correction of over 818,000 Jobs — A TOTAL SCAM,” Trump warned on Truth Social. “Jerome ‘Too Late’ Powell is no better! But, the good news is, our Country is doing GREAT!”
Trump’s warning shines a spotlight on how unelected Washington bureaucrats can manipulate numbers that affect not only the headlines, but the financial livelihood of millions of Americans. Downward revisions after the election—over 818,000 jobs erased overnight—should make every American question who’s really pulling the strings at these government agencies.
He didn’t stop with public accusations. Trump announced he had fired Dr. Erika McEntarfer, the Biden-appointed commissioner of labor statistics, holding her directly responsible for what he described as politically motivated downward revisions of job numbers for May and June. The message was loud and clear: political interference at the expense of the American people will not be tolerated.
Of course, the mainstream establishment is quick to parrot the talking point that the Bureau of Labor Statistics made similar revisions under both Trump and Biden. But should Americans simply accept that bureaucratic manipulation is a bipartisan tradition? When will the elites stop using our economy as a pawn in their political chess game?
As election cycles continue, constitutional conservatives must stay vigilant. If government bureaucrats can influence public perception with the stroke of a pen, the consequences reach far beyond partisan politics. Trust in our institutions is fundamental to liberty; without accountability, that trust dissolves.
Americans deserve better.
