Newly-released video footage from January 6, 2021, has reignited debate over the handling of security during the Capitol riot, with a particular focus on the actions and responsibilities of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
The video, shared by the House Oversight Subcommittee, reveals Pelosi acknowledging her failure to ensure that law enforcement and the National Guard were adequately prepared for the chaos that unfolded on that tumultuous day.
In the footage, Pelosi is seen being evacuated from the U.S. Capitol, visibly frustrated by the absence of the National Guard.
Speaking to her chief of staff, Terri McCullough, Pelosi laments, “We did not have any accountability for what was going on there, and we should have.”
She questions why the National Guard wasn’t present from the outset, cutting off McCullough’s attempts to explain that authorities had believed their initial preparations were sufficient.
This revelation comes after over three years and nearly $20 million spent by Pelosi and other Democrats in constructing a narrative to blame former President Donald Trump for the events of January 6. The House January 6 Select Committee, initiated by Pelosi, spent months investigating the incident, ultimately recommending insurrection charges against Trump.
Despite these efforts, the newly unveiled footage casts doubt on the efficacy of Pelosi’s actions and decisions during the crisis.
House Republicans have long criticized Democrat leaders for their handling of the situation, suggesting that concerns over the “optics” of deploying the National Guard, particularly in the wake of the Summer 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, hampered adequate security measures.
This delayed response by the National Guard has been a significant point of contention, raising questions about the priorities and decisions of those in charge.
Former President Trump has not hesitated to place blame on Pelosi, asserting that the insurrection was, in part, a result of her actions or lack thereof. In contrast, Pelosi’s camp maintains that she acted swiftly and decisively, urging the deployment of the National Guard and coordinating efforts to protect the Capitol.
However, the release of this footage suggests a different narrative, one where Pelosi herself admits to a lapse in preparation. This admission aligns with findings from a 2022 House Republicans report that highlighted missteps and hesitations by Democrat leaders in the lead-up to and during the Capitol breach.
While Pelosi’s spokesperson has dismissed the video as cherry-picked and out-of-context, the implications are clear. Accountability and transparency are paramount, and the American public deserves to know the full truth.

WHY hasn’t anyone investigated the over 200 FBI agents involved in staging the incident and could that be another reason Pelosi didn’t want the national guard there to witness who started it, OR possibly arrest the FBI instigators?

Pelosi is guilty for what happened. Republicans bloviate but no one has been arrested or prosecuted. That’s why people want Trump. Quit talking & prosecute those responsible. Garland should be in jail awaiting the audio release. He’s free while others have been jailed. We don’t believe any politician anymore. Do your job or get out.

Pelosi set the Patriots up for failure. She USED ENTRAPMENT Tactics, had them infiltrated, used tear gas, used rubber bullets to incite at a peaceful crowd, brought in actors to incite & “ACT” as if they were part of the group, invited them into the Capital building, used violence when they did NOT against Palestinians & other groups who protested without infiltration. It was a PLANNED NON INSURRECT to also ENTRAP TRUMP. The end goal put fear I the Citizenry, treat them with no RIGHTs, infiltrate them & cause Chaos

I read on Jan. 7th that President Trump had requested of the Sargeant-at-Arms, 10,000 Nat’l Guardsmen. The Sargeant-at-Arms took this request to Nancy Pelosi who declined, saying ‘it would be bad OPTICS’! Had those Nat’l Guardsmen arrived when requested, Jan. 6 would never have happened. Who invited those insurrectionists? JAN. 6 WAS OBVIOUSLY A SETUP!

Fed up with the fact nothing is ever done to those responsible for all the nefarious activities. All they do is hold hearings with no subsequent actions. IMO these hearings are nothing but stages for participating politicians to bloviate with microphones and tv cameras. Total waste of taxpayer money and merely supplies the media with material for the days news cycle.
