Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico’s desperate attempt to flip Republican voters is crumbling under scrutiny, with the RNC chairman exposing what he calls a manufactured coalition of fake conservatives.

“Any chance that Talarico has building any type of Republican coalition is a pipe dream for him,” Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters told Fox News Digital. “Nobody is going to follow him. He’s completely out of touch with Texans.”

The rebuke came after women voters featured on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” — presented as Republican crossover supporters — were quickly exposed as having longstanding ties to Democrat campaigns and anti-President Trump organizations. Federal Election Commission records tell the real story these supposed “Republicans” don’t want voters to know.

“The people that he had come out and say that they were on his team have been proven to be basically Democrat, liberal activists that have been supporting Democrat candidates for 10-plus years,” Gruters continued.

One woman identified as Mindy McClure — promoted as a concerned Republican mother backing Talarico — has FEC filings showing repeated ActBlue contributions to Democratic candidates dating back to 2018. Her donation history includes support for Kamala Harris and The Lincoln Project, the notorious anti-Trump activist group.

“I just don’t believe it,” Gruters said. “This is Kamala Harris’ ‘White Dudes for Kamala.’ It just doesn’t exist. It’s a wannabe or an attempt at them to try to build some crossover support.”

Another featured supporter’s primary-voting record revealed far more participation in Democratic primaries than Republican ones — hardly the profile of a genuine conservative crossover voter.

The pattern extends to Talarico’s high-profile endorsers. Former Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley, presented as a Republican backing the Democrat, has a recent endorsement history that reads like a who’s who of failed Texas Democrat campaigns. Whitley backed Democrat Mike Collier against Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick in 2022, then endorsed Harris for president and Democrat Colin Allred for Senate in 2024. All lost to Republicans.

“When you have policies like mutilating children, saying that God has six different genders and is non-binary and all this other stuff, you can’t expect that Republicans are going to hop on and think that they’re going to be on board to this liberal clown show that he’s operating down there in Texas,” Gruters said.

The RNC chairman didn’t mince words comparing Talarico to past Democrat challengers in the Lone Star State.

“He’s not Beto: Beto was actually a decent candidate, as liberal as he was,” Gruters said, delivering his signature moniker for the Democrat. “This guy makes Beto look like a conservative. Tala-freako has no chance, because people aren’t buying into the stuff that he’s peddling.”

Texas votes on “God, guns and oil,” as President Trump has famously noted — values that don’t align with Talarico’s far-left platform, according to Republicans defending the seat.

“We don’t need weak members,” Gruters said. “We need strong MAGA warriors. And that’s exactly what Ken Paxton will provide is he will bring: strength to the U.S. Senate on behalf of Texas and will represent them well.”

Paxton’s campaign has seen remarkable unity among Texas Republicans, including two former impeachment managers from the state legislature who now actively support his Senate bid. Republican State Reps. Jeff Leach and Briscoe Cain — both of whom voted to impeach Paxton in a failed effort three years ago — recently introduced him at campaign rallies.

The Trump-endorsed Paxton ousted four-term incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the primary by hundreds of thousands of votes, demonstrating his strength with the conservative base.

“You got to remember Ken Paxton won this state a couple of times in the general,” Gruters added. “He won a primary against a strong incumbent that’s been there for a long time by a couple hundred thousand votes.”

Paxton told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” that he has “outraised every Republican in the country,” while calling for additional support from the Senate Leadership Fund, conservative billionaire Elon Musk, and President Trump’s MAGA Inc. to counter the massive California liberal dollars flooding into Texas.

“We’re hoping the Senate Leadership Fund, Elon Musk, President Trump come in now because we’re trying to accumulate,” Paxton told host Maria Bartiromo. “That’s allowed [Talarico] to just keep advertising that he’s a moderate Democrat when he’s, in reality, a socialist.”

Despite Democrats pouring tens of millions into Texas hoping to flip the seat, the RNC chairman remains confident in the outcome.

“People want this race to be the biggest race in the country, but it really won’t be because, at the end of the day, Paxton has proven time and time again that he’s a winner — he’s a winner in this state,” Gruters said. “Texas is ruby red. It’s not going to go left and vote for somebody who wants to mutilate children, put boys in girls locker rooms and who, you know, says he has faith on Sunday then goes woke on Monday.”

“It’s just not going to happen. Texas is a hardcore Republican state.”

The Constitution must be defended.
