FEDERAL PROBE Explodes: Far-Left Influencer and Dozens Face Cuba Sanctions Investigation
Liberty Check
- Federal authorities subpoena radical leftist streamer and 40+ Americans over potentially illegal Cuba trip
- March excursion may have violated longstanding U.S. sanctions designed to pressure communist regime
- Investigation reveals how far-left influencers openly flout American law while profiting from anti-American propaganda
Federal officials have issued administrative subpoenas to far-left political streamer Hasan Piker and roughly 40 other American citizens as part of an investigation into whether their highly publicized March trip to Cuba violated longstanding U.S. sanctions. The probe marks a significant escalation in scrutiny of leftist influencers who frequently promote anti-American narratives to millions of followers.
Piker, known for broadcasting socialist and communist-sympathetic content to a massive online audience, participated in what appears to have been a propaganda tour of the communist island nation. The trip raised immediate red flags among conservative watchdogs who pointed out that such travel could constitute violations of economic sanctions that have been U.S. policy for decades.
🚨 BREAKING: Hasan Piker addressed the reported Treasury investigation on his livestream, and even he admits the news is “not great.”

The Treasury Department’s sanctions against Cuba were designed to prevent American dollars from propping up a brutal communist dictatorship that has imprisoned dissidents, crushed religious freedom, and maintained a police state for over six decades. These restrictions exist for a reason: to deny the Castro regime and its successors the resources needed to continue oppressing the Cuban people.
Yet Piker and his fellow travelers apparently believed the rules didn’t apply to them. Their willingness to potentially break federal law to visit a communist nation speaks volumes about the modern far-left’s contempt for American policy and values.
The subpoenas signal that federal authorities are taking the matter seriously. Administrative subpoenas compel individuals to provide testimony and documents relevant to the investigation, and failure to comply can result in significant legal consequences.
For years, conservative Americans have watched as leftist influencers with massive platforms spread anti-American propaganda, defend authoritarian regimes, and undermine constitutional principles—all while enjoying the freedoms and prosperity that capitalism and the Constitution provide. This investigation may finally hold some of them accountable for crossing legal lines.
The Cuba sanctions have been a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy since the Kennedy administration. While some Democrats have advocated for lifting or loosening these restrictions, they remain in place because of Cuba’s continued human rights abuses and its status as a state sponsor of terrorism.
If Piker and the other Americans on this trip did indeed violate sanctions, they should face the full weight of the law. No amount of social media clout should place anyone above the rules that govern every other citizen.
The Constitution must be defended.
