In a bold move that underscores his commitment to revitalizing American tradition and prestige, President Donald Trump announced the groundbreaking of a new, privately funded White House Ballroom. This long-awaited addition aims to enhance the grandeur of state visits and large gatherings, all while modernizing the East Wing.
President Trump took to Truth Social to share the exciting news: “I am pleased to announce that ground has been broken on the White House grounds to build the new, big, beautiful White House Ballroom. Completely separate from the White House itself, the East Wing is being fully modernized as part of this process, and will be more beautiful than ever when it is complete!”
For over 150 years, presidents have envisioned a ballroom to host grand parties and state visits. President Trump is the first to make this dream a reality, and he’s doing it without burdening the American taxpayer. “The White House Ballroom is being privately funded by many generous Patriots, Great American Companies, and, yours truly. This Ballroom will be happily used for Generations to come!” Trump proudly stated.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed in July that this $200 million project would kick off in September, with completion expected well before the end of Trump’s term. This follows Trump’s earlier patriotic gesture of personally financing two massive American flags at the White House.
Leavitt emphasized the necessity of the ballroom, pointing out that the current setup requires unsightly tents for major functions. The new ballroom will eliminate this issue, offering a much-needed, exquisite space for official events. The United States Secret Service will ensure top-notch security throughout the construction.
The 90,000-square-foot addition will accommodate around 650 seated guests, maintaining the classical elegance of the White House. The project is a testament to Trump’s vision and dedication to restoring American greatness.
With McCrery Architects leading the design, Clark Construction managing the build, and AECOM providing engineering support, this endeavor promises to be a landmark achievement. It’s yet another example of President Trump’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s most iconic residence, all while respecting the taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars.
