A Wisconsin couple stands accused of horrific abuse against their six children, allegedly subjecting them to years of starvation and physical violence. Authorities claim the victims were forced to consume insects, mold, and dog food to survive.

Casey and Mary Cano face multiple felony counts including repeated physical abuse and child neglect. Prosecutors allege the children were beaten with belts and denied food as a form of discipline for years.

The survivors, who were between the ages of 1 and 9, described a living nightmare of extreme hunger and isolation. The parents were previously convicted of sexual assault involving a minor in a separate 2022 case.

A new investigation into these dark allegations began last winter, resulting in the couple’s arrest this past March. Despite the severity of the charges, both individuals have reportedly posted bond and await further court proceedings.
