Do You Agree with Trump’s Demand to Impeach a Judge for Ruling Against His Deportation Plan?

Do You Agree with Trump’s Demand to Impeach a Judge for Ruling Against His Deportation Plan?

Here’s The Scoop

In a bold and telling moment of tension between the executive and judiciary branches, Chief Justice John Roberts has dismissed calls for the impeachment of federal judges, coming right on the heels of President Donald Trump’s demand for the removal of a judge who blocked his deportation plans.

Roberts, in a rare public statement, emphasized that “impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision,” pointing to the established appellate review process as the proper channel for such disputes.

President Trump, never one to shy away from calling out what he sees as judicial overreach, took to Truth Social to voice his frustrations with U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg. Trump labeled Boasberg, an Obama appointee, as an unelected “troublemaker and agitator” after the judge halted deportation flights under a centuries-old law Trump invoked to address illegal immigration threats.

Trump’s post was emphatic: “HE DIDN’T WIN ANYTHING! I WON FOR MANY REASONS, IN AN OVERWHELMING MANDATE, BUT FIGHTING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION MAY HAVE BEEN THE NUMBER ONE REASON FOR THIS HISTORIC VICTORY.” He continued, asserting that he is simply fulfilling the will of the voters, and suggesting that judges obstructing his agenda, like Boasberg, should face impeachment.

This clash underscores the ongoing battle between Trump’s administration and a judiciary that has often been a roadblock to his efforts to assert presidential authority and implement his robust agenda. Trump’s call for impeachment, typically reserved for severe ethical breaches, highlights the escalating friction between these branches of government.

The Alien Enemies Act of 1798, which Trump has invoked, has rarely been used, and only during declared wars. Trump’s administration has taken a strong stance against what he describes as an invasion by the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, even paying El Salvador to detain alleged gang members.

Despite Judge Boasberg’s order to halt deportation flights, the Trump administration argued that the order lacked clarity, while the ACLU hinted at a looming constitutional crisis. Yet, Trump remains undeterred, finding support among allies like Elon Musk, who echo his calls for judicial accountability.

The Constitution allows the House, with its slim Republican majority, to impeach judges with a simple majority vote, though removal requires a two-thirds Senate majority. Historically, only 15 judges have been impeached, with just eight removed, demonstrating the rarity of such actions.

As Trump’s agenda faces judicial pushback, calls to impeach judges are gaining traction. At least two members of Congress have signaled intentions to introduce impeachment articles against Boasberg, and House Republicans have already filed articles against two other judges over Trump-related rulings.

This situation is a stark reminder of the ongoing struggle for power and accountability in Washington, as President Trump continues to champion the causes that resonate with his supporters and challenge the status quo.

Democratic appointed activist judges have no business forming an opinion and acting on their own behalf. The supreme court’s ruling in the past has ruled that the executive branch has the right to deport anyone that violates the law and in this case immigration laws.

AND that is the way it should remain. These crooked judges should also be arrested, jailed, and imprisoned for their treason.

the Federal Districts have no Constitutional basis. They were formed by Congress. Congress can repeal all or some of them. I believe repealing even one District such as the one in California that has had the most judgements over-turned would be a reminder for all the others to get back in line.

Unless he has committed a crime, he cannot be impeached. The appeals process is President Chamberlain’s – err, Trump’s – only legal route.
I want to see ALL these illegals removed from U.S. soil but it cannot be done under the Alien Enemies Act, which presupposes a state of war and Congress has not made a Declaration of War against ANY country. Only Congress can declare war and a “war” is ONLY a conflict against another nation-state, NOT against a criminal gang or a terrorist group. The White House has no ground to stand on, here.

“Enemies of the State” are agents of foreign governments engaged in espionage or asymmetrical warfare against the U.S. or Americans who act as agents of, or give aid & comfort to, the enemy, (Hanoi Jane,) or take-up arms against the U.S. government and that designation cannot be used against regular criminals. Chamberlain – err, Trump – grabs for anything he thinks he can use to justify his actions, even when those justifications run contrary to the law. Yes, they can be arrested. Yes, if a court finds them guilty of a crime (and illegal entry into the U.S. is sufficient) they can be deported. No, the “Enemy Aliens Act” cannot be used to legally justify deporting them without the due process rights the Constitution grants them through the 14th Amendment. What’s right and what’s legal sometimes run contrary to one another and, unfortunately at times, we are a nation of laws – even when those laws fly in the face of common sense. The White House MUST follow existing laws, until & unless it can get Congress to change them!

These federal judges where put on place by CONGRESS to oversees such area of the state! They were NOT GIVEN IN POWER OVER THE THREE BRANCH OF LAWS! Their jobs was to follow the CONSTITUTION LAWS and regulations that were in place by the CONSTITUTION LAWS! Plus they were pick by the PRESIDENT AND APPROVED BY THE CONGRESS! SO THEY CAN BE REMOVED FROM BENCH BY THE PRESIDENT AND CONGRESS! SINCE THEY ARE “AIDING” ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WHO ARE NOT AMERICANS CITIZEN. THAT THERE IS TREASONOUS AND SEDITION!
