William Lawrence, who secured the Democratic nomination, reportedly deleted numerous posts where he openly advocated for abolishing prisons, attacked moderate Democrats as insufficiently progressive, and argued against the nuclear family — the bedrock of American society.

The pattern is all too familiar: run as a moderate in the general election while hiding your true radical beliefs. It’s the same playbook Democrats have used across the country, from school boards to the Senate.

Lawrence’s scrubbed social media history reveals support for positions that would fundamentally reshape America — eliminating law enforcement, opening borders, and restructuring the Constitution itself to eliminate the Senate. These aren’t minor policy disagreements; they represent a wholesale rejection of American institutions and values.

The timing of the deletions raises serious questions about transparency and honesty with voters. Why scrub these posts now unless you know they’re politically toxic? Why hide your real positions unless you’re trying to deceive the electorate?

Michigan voters deserve to know exactly what they’re getting before they head to the polls. Lawrence’s attempt to memory-hole his radical past shows he understands his actual positions are out of step with the district — yet he’s running anyway, hoping voters won’t find out who he really is.
