House CRUSHES Radical Democrat’s Scheme to Handcuff Military
Liberty Check
- House decisively rejects Tlaib’s dangerous resolution targeting U.S. military operations in Lebanon
- Constitutional war powers authority upheld as Congress refuses to micromanage combat readiness
- Squad member’s anti-Israel agenda suffers major defeat amid bipartisan pushback
The House delivered a crushing blow to the far-left’s ongoing efforts to undermine American military strength and our critical Middle East partnerships. In a decisive vote, lawmakers rejected Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s reckless resolution that sought to severely restrict U.S. military operations supporting our ally Israel.
The resolution targeted American forces providing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance support to Israeli operations in Lebanon. Tlaib’s maneuver represented yet another attempt by progressive Democrats to hamstring our military while emboldening enemies in the region.

The vote breakdown told the whole story: 47 members supported Tlaib’s dangerous proposal while a commanding 363 opposed it. Even many Democrats recognized the resolution for what it truly was — a thinly-veiled attack on the U.S.-Israel partnership disguised as constitutional oversight.
Tlaib claimed her resolution aimed to protect American servicemembers and uphold congressional war powers authority. But the timing and target reveal her true motivation: weakening Israel’s ability to defend itself against Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorists operating from Lebanese territory.
“There are not U.S. combat forces,”
Pentagon officials have been clear that American personnel in the region are not engaged in direct combat operations. Our forces provide critical intelligence support that helps both American interests and our Israeli allies identify and neutralize terrorist threats before they can strike.
The Squad member has built her entire congressional career on antagonizing Israel and questioning America’s strategic partnerships in the Middle East. This latest stunt follows her previous efforts to condition aid to Israel, promote boycott movements, and echo anti-Semitic rhetoric under the guise of “human rights” advocacy.
Constitutional conservatives understand that Congress does hold war powers authority under Article I. But Tlaib’s resolution wasn’t about protecting constitutional principles — it was about forcing the United States to abandon a democratic ally facing existential threats from terrorist organizations.
The overwhelming rejection sends an unmistakable message: the American people won’t tolerate efforts to micromanage military operations or abandon our allies in their hour of need. Our national security depends on maintaining flexibility to support partners facing Iranian aggression throughout the region.
Israel faces relentless attacks from Hezbollah, a terrorist army that has transformed southern Lebanon into a fortress of rockets and tunnels aimed at Israeli civilians. U.S. intelligence support helps identify these threats and protect innocent lives on both sides of the border.
By attempting to cut off this support, Tlaib would have essentially handed a victory to Iran’s proxy forces. The terrorist regime in Tehran closely watches how America treats its allies — weakness invites aggression while strength deters it.
The bipartisan coalition that defeated this resolution understands these stakes. Even Democrats who often criticize Israeli policy recognized that Tlaib’s approach would dangerously constrain American options while emboldening our enemies.
This vote also highlights the growing divide within the Democratic Party between traditional pro-Israel moderates and the progressive wing that increasingly embraces anti-Israel positions. As the Squad pushes harder left, more Democrats are refusing to follow them down that dangerous path.
The American people consistently support our alliance with Israel, the only stable democracy in a volatile region. They understand that our partnership serves mutual interests — from intelligence sharing to counterterrorism cooperation to technological innovation.
Tlaib’s defeat represents a win for common sense foreign policy and constitutional governance. Congress should absolutely exercise its war powers oversight, but not through partisan stunts designed to score political points with anti-Israel activists.
Our freedoms depend on staying vigilant.
