EXPOSED: 20-Year Democrat’s Office Goes Silent on Staggering Fraud Scandal — Zero Press Releases
Liberty Check
- Minnesota Democrat Amy Klobuchar issued zero press releases on her state’s $9 billion fraud scandal despite serving as senator throughout the entire crisis
- Fox News review of 1,000+ official releases shows Klobuchar addressed other fraud issues but completely ignored the Feeding Our Future scandal devastating taxpayers
- GOP opponent Lisa Demuth calls out Klobuchar’s silence as ‘speaking very loudly’ — questions sudden fraud-fighting promises now that she’s running for governor
Minnesota Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Klobuchar is facing mounting criticism from her Republican opponent and voters after a bombshell discovery: despite campaigning on fighting fraud, she never mentioned her state’s massive fraud crisis in any official press release throughout the entire scandal. A Fox News Digital investigation revealed the stunning silence from Klobuchar’s Senate office.
The review examined 1,000 press releases from Klobuchar’s official archive between January 2022 and December 2025. While her office repeatedly addressed other forms of fraud during that period, not a single release mentioned the Feeding Our Future scandal, Minnesota fraud, social services fraud, Medicaid fraud, autism fraud, or any related terms.
The $250 million Feeding Our Future scandal first broke in late January 2022. Prosecutors now say the overall social services fraud could total over $9 billion — one of the largest taxpayer theft schemes in American history. Yet Klobuchar’s office remained conspicuously silent on the record.
“As Feeding Our Future was breaking and all of the fraud that was being talked about, the absent voice that I was noticing was Senator Klobuchar,” Minnesota Republican House Speaker Lisa Demuth told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview Friday.
“She with her extended time, twenty years as a senator, could have held hearings but not only did she not hold hearings, the hearing that took place a few months ago about fraud here in the state of Minnesota she didn’t even attend and so I think that speaks very loudly to the people of Minnesota that we have a twenty-year senator, the most explosive fraud that has taken place a theft of our tax dollars here and yet, there was no mention.”
Demuth drew attention to Klobuchar’s absent record earlier this week during a major speech where she released her own comprehensive plan to combat fraud. The Republican challenger didn’t hold back in her criticism of the Democratic senator’s selective silence.
“Billions of our tax dollars stolen,” Demuth posted on X. “It’s time for change.”
The timing couldn’t be more suspicious. Since announcing her gubernatorial run, Klobuchar has suddenly pivoted to making fraud a centerpiece of her campaign. She released a campaign ad earlier this month promising a state audit on her first day in office that will “root out waste fraud and abuse.”
“It’s time for results, not excuses,” Klobuchar posted on X.
But Republican critics aren’t buying the eleventh-hour conversion. Klobuchar breezed through the primary election and heads into November as the favorite to replace Gov. Tim Walz, who abandoned his own re-election bid amid the fraud fallout. Demuth argues voters won’t forget Klobuchar’s convenient silence — or her close ties to Walz.
“My question is, where were you for the last 10 years, but absolutely the last eight years?” Demuth said. “She could have done press conferences, she could have partnered with Governor Walz. She has called Governor Walz an exceptional governor, ‘he’s a great governor.’ Back when he was running for vice president, she was giving all of his accolades. Where was she to help him where our state was falling apart? I think it’s a little bit too late for her to say that this was really a priority.”
Republican candidates across Minnesota are making the case that voters of all political stripes are motivated and outraged by the fraud scandal. Senate hopeful Michele Tafoya told Fox News Digital earlier this month that Minnesota voters are “ready for a change.”
Demuth highlighted her own proven track record fighting fraud in the legislature. As soon as she became Minnesota House Speaker in 2025, she immediately took decisive action, including establishing the Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee to ensure accountability remained front and center.
“Who are Minnesotans gonna trust for their next governor?” Demuth said. “Somebody that has just decided to talk about fraud now that they’re running for office or someone that has been fighting fraud this entire time? And I think I am the most trustworthy when it comes to ending fraud and respecting taxpayer dollars as your next governor.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Klobuchar’s campaign for comment. As of publication, no response had been received.
