A new report by the New York Times details House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) lavish lifestyle and her husband Paul Pelosi’s checkered driving record.
The Napa County District Attorney’s Office announced that Paul Pelosi had been charged in connection with a car crash in Napa County, CA.
Charges against the House Speaker’s husband include driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury and driving with a 0.08 percent blood alcohol level or higher and causing injury.
The outlet noted that the details behind the incident “were not especially flattering.” After her husband’s arrest, “the speaker swung into crisis mode,” noting that it would draw attention to the couple’s lavish California life and his “troubled driving record.”
“And it would shine a spotlight on the Pelosis’ California life, where the couple inhabit two homes, including a 16.55-acre gated estate and mingle with other rich residents, at a time when economic hardship is straining many people of lesser means.”
