Far-left outlets like PolitiFact are conveniently shifting the narrative, asserting that Harris was merely tasked with addressing the “root causes” of migration from Central America—nothing more. They argue that controlling illegal immigration falls solely under the purview of the Homeland Security Secretary.

Let’s debunk this blatant gaslighting with Joe Biden’s own words from his March 25, 2021 statement. He explicitly said, “I’ve asked the VP today, because she’s the most qualified person to do it, to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border.”

Yet now, the liberal media machine, including CNN and Axios, is running cover for Harris. They’re bending over backward to convince us that Harris was never responsible for managing the border crisis—a crisis that has only worsened under the Biden administration’s policies.

Axios previously reported that Biden put Harris in charge of addressing the migrant surge, with her primary goal being to “stem the flow of illegal migrants to the U.S.” They even quoted her plans to visit Mexico and Guatemala in an effort to manage the border situation. But now, Axios and their ilk are backpedaling, trying to convince us that she never held any such role.

Other media giants like The New York Times, NBC, CBS, and Politico also confirmed back in 2021 that Harris was being positioned to tackle the border crisis. They reported extensively on her assignment to lead efforts to stem migration and address the influx at the southern border.

Of course, now that Harris’s tenure has resulted in unmitigated failure, these same outlets are trying to erase their own reporting. They’re attempting to gaslight the public into believing that only conservatives ever said Harris was in charge of the border.

This media revisionism is not just misleading; it’s an insult to the intelligence of the American public. The facts are clear: Kamala Harris was given the responsibility of addressing the border crisis, and she has unequivocally failed to do so. But instead of holding her accountable, the media would rather distort the truth to protect their preferred political narratives.
