Baltimore Youth Football Tragedy Exposes Deadly Cost of Failed Leadership

  • Second Amendment rights are not the problem—lawless streets and Democrat-run cities are.
  • Parents and communities deserve safe public spaces without fear of random gunfire.
  • Weak prosecution and soft-on-crime policies continue to endanger American families.

A 12-year-old girl lost her life and three adults were wounded when gunfire erupted near a youth football homecoming event in Baltimore.

Police say the shooting stemmed from a petty dispute over a parking space that quickly escalated into deadly violence.

“What we know is that there was some type of argument between two cowards, and of course, they both opened fire on each other,” said Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley.

The young girl was caught in the crossfire while watching the football game at Leon Day Park.

“In the crossfire, a 12-year-old little girl who was probably down there watching football was shot and killed,” Worley added.

Officers arrived at the scene around 6:15 p.m. after multiple reports of gunfire.

Authorities are still searching for at least two adult male suspects and no arrests have been announced.

“Two grown men got into an argument and now a 12-year-old is gone,” said Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott.

Scott called the incident one of the most disgusting things he has ever seen.

“We’re never gonna see her full potential,” he said. “Her family’s gonna be hurting for this for the rest of their life. Her classmates are going to be hurting, her community’s going to be hurting.”

Americans deserve better.
