In a stunning display of ignorance regarding our nation’s founding principles, Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) declared that there is “no guarantee to free speech” when it comes to so-called “misinformation or hate speech.”
Walz’s comments came during a December 2022 appearance on MSNBC’s “The Reidout,” where he spoke about potential repercussions for spreading what Democrats deem as “misinformation” about U.S. elections.
“I think we need to push back on this. There’s no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech, and especially around our democracy,” Walz said in the clip that circulated on social media, sparking a wave of criticism from Americans who cherish their constitutional rights.
His comments came just 24 hours after Vice President Kamala Harris announced him as her running mate for the 2024 presidential elections, raising serious concerns about the Democratic ticket’s commitment to the First Amendment.
Critics quickly pointed out that Walz’s assertion flies in the face of the First Amendment.
“I’d probably die if a Democrat understood what our rights are and how they work,” tweeted Frank Fleming, capturing the frustration many feel toward Democrats’ apparent disregard for constitutional freedoms.
Another social media user emphasized the clear contradiction in Walz’s statement by simply stating, “There is, actually, it’s called the First Amendment,” a reminder that even speech deemed controversial or unpleasant is protected under our Constitution.
Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) weighed in with a sharp rebuke: “Walz couldn’t be more wrong in suggesting ‘there’s no guarantee to free speech’ when it comes to anything progressive Democrats might label ‘misinformation’ or ‘hate speech.’ Don’t trust this man with power.”
During the interview, Walz referenced various instances where he claimed “insidious” efforts at spreading “misinformation” had harmed the American public—mentioning the COVID-19 pandemic and the aftermath of January 6th. Yet, he conveniently omitted the rampant misinformation perpetuated by Democrats themselves, from the Russian collusion hoax to misleading narratives about systemic racism.
As we approach the 2024 elections, it’s crucial to remember that our First Amendment rights are non-negotiable. The right to free speech exists precisely to protect all viewpoints, including those deemed unpopular or controversial by the powers that be. Any attempt to stifle that freedom under the guise of combating “misinformation” is a direct assault on the very principles that make America great.

Too add, Kamala and Waltz were hand picked by the Democrat party not elected by us. So what does that say is happening to our so called fair elections. Socialism in work by Democrat party.

This candidate should never have been allowed to come anywhere near a public office. It’s obvious that those who actually voted him into office weren’t paying any attention to who he is or what he stands for. That said,however, we have already allowed this corruption of our Constitutional mandates to be diluted in the form of “exceptions” to enforcement instituted by the court system- not only concerning the free speech clause but also search & seizure; due process; and double jeopardy, etc..
Nowhere in our Constitution does it allow for such “exceptions,” for whatever reason(s)! Our fundamental Fourth Amendment right to privacy is violated every day, every time you send an email, message, text, etc., by our own government’s monitoring it’s citizens under the guise of “national security from foreign agents”! This should never be allowed to occur and/or continue, however “we the people” continue to sit back idly seemingly uncaring that their rights are quickly being taken away, most notably, under the rule of every democrat administration. We need to wake up and smell the stench!

Our forefathers and writers of the American Constitution have turned over in their graves after hearing what Tim Walz has said. Vote for a liberal progressive and this is what you get–destruction of the Constitution. If this is allowed other portions of our beloved Constitution will be attacked.

I know some great teachers that actually taught in the same schools with this con artist and they think to this day that he is a really great person. They have told me that his students loved him also. They are all females with no military service or even closeness to it. They will not listen to the crapola he is shown to be by his own troops in the Guard and his statements such as this, they think it is just the right wing press making it up. If course there is no such thing a a “right wing” press. As a true veteran of active duty and combat I tend to listen to those who actually served on active duty and truthfully believe that no one should be able to serve only in reserves or guard without active service as a pre-requisite

Yeah and this is the idiot that is our Gvnr in MN. He authorized a tattletale line during covid. He also authorized a team of ??? to paintball gun anyone who was out on their porches, decks etc during covid. Put over 3000 sick into nursing homes, abortion til birth and NO after care if baby survived. Not too mention that if child wants to transition, they can/will and have taken the child away from their parents.
