But what’s unfolding in America’s largest city right now isn’t just a local issue. It’s a test case for how far socialists can push their agenda before the rest of the country wakes up.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has published a searchable database listing more than 960,000 properties worth over $1 million, complete with owners’ full names and home addresses. This isn’t transparency — it’s government-sanctioned intimidation.

He then took to X to gloat that anyone with a second home in the city worth more than $5 million should check their mailbox for his new pied-à-terre tax notification.

“You’ve got mail,” he wrote.

The mayor of America’s largest city had one clear goal: send a message that private property owners are now targets. Even more alarming, the co-chair of the Democratic Socialists of America has openly stated the endgame. In Ashik Siddique’s own words, the goal is “to replace capitalism with socialism.”

That kind of power, he admits, “is not conceded without struggle.”

That’s why Mamdani proudly filmed his “Happy Tax Day” video doxxing billionaire Ken Griffin’s Manhattan penthouse. The natural response might be to dismiss this as one wealthy person’s problem. It’s not.

Mamdani is drawing up the blueprint for socialist tactics and the weaponization of government that can spread nationwide. He’s testing what Americans will tolerate. As long as the rest of us shrug our shoulders and scroll past, he’s one step closer to implementing something far more aggressive.

That’s why everyday Americans must push back in one of the most powerful ways available: by exposing what’s happening and refusing to let it become normalized. Socialism thrives in silence and short attention spans. Every outrageous story that fades from view without consequence is another victory for the radical left.

If one thing is clear, socialism rarely stays contained. The leaders of the DSA make it their explicit mission to push their ideology across the entire country. For Mamdani and his allies, this is a long game. They have no intention of running NYC into the ground and calling it quits. They’re building momentum, and they aren’t sitting on the sidelines.

One of the greatest lies propagated in mainstream media is that the Democratic Socialists are just a far-left fringe of the Democrat Party. That might have been true when Bernie Sanders was pushed aside for Hillary Clinton a decade ago. Times have changed.

The socialists are now the driving force of the Democrat Party, with leadership that openly discusses abolishing the Senate and the Electoral College while insisting none of it is extreme. What was once the fringe is now the heart of the progressive movement.

Those of us who love our country still have a critical role to play. Expose every socialist policy and every destructive DSA platform. Call the leaders who champion them what they are: enemies of free-market capitalism and individual liberty.
